I was out yesterday morning and saw a group of fallow buck. Eight in total. Some were prickets some good antlers but not yet palmated and two were really good. One had very symetrical antlers and broad palmates. The other was even bigger with good brow tines. But also had a long tine off the back of one palmate and the antlers palmate was split from the top.
While this biggest buck looked like he was the dominant male do his split antlers indicate he is past his prime
