I have been following this site for some time and am impressed by the depth of knowledge amongst the members. I have found it useful on a number of occasions. I have been in the gun trade for 37 years, during which time I have run a retail premises, toured the country as a rep, loaded shotgun cartridges, repaired guns and made stocks. Latterly I am in the distribution side of the gun trade, best known as UK distributor for Krieghoff and newly, Lynx Rifles from Finland. My company are Zeiss Center Partners and also represent Bauer, an optics company. We specialise in scope mounting and represent Recknagel and the exciting new Ziegler ZP mount. Yes, I am sure I should be a Trade Member but could not find any link for that. Please let me have the information and I will sign up.

Although I shot rifles extensively in my youth I got sidetracked into Clay Shooting only to return in the past few years. I have been lucky enough to hunt in Germany and only last year shot my first Scottish Red Stag. My only regret is that I did not take up stalking 30 years ago.

Welcome to the site, go to the classified section and at the top in the yellow banner it explains about being a trade member and how to become one.

Welcome to the site Alan, I had some dealings with you in the past regarding my Blaser and always got good service. Actually the reason I joined up to this site was to answer a question from someone regarding fitting a bipod stud to the underside of a Blaser off road stock and I posted some photos of the modification you had made to mine - I still think it is a great job.

Like you I'm a relative newcomer to stalking and I too regret not doing it 20 years ago.

Thank you and glad to hear that is still working out for you. Looking forward to making one or two contributions to the site.

Welcome from an Exiled North Walian Alan, thanks for your advice on FITASC by the way!

No, Switzerland ATM and will be for at least 2-3 years if not longer I should think! Just working on finding a non-company flat to live in and getting my firearms permit sorted and then joining a club.

Keep well and good luck with your season!

Good luck with that. If ever you need a top class English speaking gunsmith in Switzerland I recommend Peter Kammerman in Menznau. Good guy and top quality work.

I am a keen shooter and have just passed my DSC L1 am based in south wales and am looking for any leases for sale anywhere in UK as am willing to travel. I have now registered for DSC L2 and am wanting to work towards completing that.

Does anyone know of any leases available or, know of how to find out what is out there.

Thanks

Matt

Can't help with that but you might try looking in Shooting Times, Sporting Rifle or the BDS magazine as there is usually a few adds there that might match. You could also try a small add in the classifieds in one of those titles.

Welcome

Hi Alan, welcome to the site. I guess your the chap on the Industrial estae? I have been meaning to call in at some point, good to have a decent gun smith in the area. ATB Steve

Welcome to the site Alan, as you will see I live a little further west in good fallow country (still very hard to get permission) but will certainly make a point to call in next time I'm in the Wrexham area. Scumbag my sister in law lives in Geneva (she sings with the opera) and finding a flat was the hardest part of being there but she's got a nice one now in the Champel area. I'll ask her to keep an ear to the ground for you.

Guilty as charged. You are welcome to call in but please let me know beforehand as we are not a retail shop and most times the workshop is very busy.
