Ahh but is it 'better' because your a mate of the owner?

Rimfire magic have got many years of custom rifle building experience behind them, a proven track record if you like.......

Most UK made Custom actions are mediocre at best, the fit and finish is not as good as the US stuff, and from batch to batch the tolerances are not consistent. the GBR action is awful.
Although the idea of a domestically built action is a great one, the reality is that the demand is not there and as such they will only be made in dribs and drabs and scheduled into production between more important jobs.

my advise is by a name brand action from a known manufacturer who only specialises in rifle actions and shooting accessories, they run components in large batches, held to tight tolerances from the same batches of steel, the bodies and bolts are heat treated at the same time, and the fit and finish are performed to a very high standard. in short they are a polished product not another example of british hobbyists playing around in the manufacturing arena.

Dan are you sure you know what you are talking about? Some of the best engineering in the world comes from this island, in my experience, and this takes into accoutn 20yrs of close tolerance high spec engineering, american stuff is pisch and UK equivalents are far far superior, tighter tolerances, correct material spec and superior design. American engineering is often budget at best, built to a price and damn the rest.

There is nothing wrong with rimfire magic actions, from what I have seen they are well produced with hundreds of happy customers.

Its true i`m a friend of the owner but that did not sway my decision, if he has come up with something that is crap I will tell him as do others ( thats called constuctive critisism ) whch he listens to and helps things progress
If you were at Newark or Ewa I think it would be fair to say the buzz was about the Impala actions especially the titanium model , not the afore mentioned.
Infact some off the other british made custom actions were reffered to as just ok in comparison.
In fact MMBeatle if you Pm Janner ( Aka Mike Norris ) i`m sure he will give you an honest view of both and for that matter any others out there ( Steve Kershaw took one of these and in his words tested it to destruction then appologised when he could not break it.

The Valkyrie rifles action is an improved version of the action offered by SYSS.

Having said that you will not be able to just buy one and have your smith bulid you a gun on it, they are only been used by Valkyrie for their own bulids.

They do look like a nice piece of kit though and even tighter tolerances than a Surgeon action.

"quote british actions are mediocre at best"

granted ill givein to demand costings etc et cbut purely from a manufacturing engineering point of view!!!!!!

have you seen Russel Galls own actions???
i believe mr callum fergasun himself has seen them and is interested in using them!!!!
from his own mouth he said he wants to be making action to the same quality as BAT etc and form what hes produced hes done it!!!!!

if i was going for another custom based on what ive seen i would happily go for a RG Rifles own action or a Valkyrie action....i dont know regardin pricing but if it was more i would gladly pay to have a "british action" in my rifle i know others who have these action in rifles and accuracy cannot be beaten.

i work with the current F-class british and european champ and he won this with a rifle he built himself!!

go to ukvarminting and there is a crop of british "hobbyists" who are producing some beautiful as well as unbelievable accurate rifles.

of course we aint gonna compete with the yanks on pricing and demand....they are a damn site bigger than us with a far bigger % of population who are into rifles and shooting in general......to me you cant compare

My friend has one,I personally would not have one having tried it.
A surgeon action would be my first choice.
