Thread: 9.3x62

    Does anyone shoot a 9.3x62?

Only abroad. Love it. My lad shoots my Mauser MO3 in 6.5 x 55 and in Africa in June I handed him the 9.3 x 62 when he got onto an Eland. No problem

    I do.

I bought the barrel several months ago but only tried it a few times. The first time was less than great. I mounted a Zeiss 6x42 and achieved pretty miserable groups with Privi 285 SP.

I then tried a Swarovski 1-6x24 which gave me much better groups with the same ammo. I intend to use the set up for boar and possibly a trip to Africa. It is a hard hitting round and not too difficult to shoot. I would recommend putting a muzzle brake on it just to tame it a little ( I know I said above that it is easy to shoot, it is with a brake)

Ok, lads. Thanks for the reply's. I'm waiting on word for my variation for 9.3x62 to use on driven boar in Croatia. I was just wondering if anybody had sourced ammo in the U.K.

    I have a Husqvarna 9.3x57. Wonderful cartridge, and accurate. Can't imagine a X62 being much different.~Muir

Chopper, is that factory loaded ammo or bullets heads for reloading you saw at sportsmans ?

    Factory, think it was 285g.
