Thread: reloading help

    reloading help

    sooooo ive the lee loader kit with everything i need ( havent a clue what its all for), what else do i need , ie primers , bullet heads powder?

    A loading manual??? That will tell you what all the bits are for and what else you need to make it all work??~Muir

    After reading the manual (slowly), ............ read it again, then maybe have a look at any of the links on here, csl, (Alex) has a good one for starters as a sticky

    You didn't tell him to buy "bullets"... I think the mighty Finn may be weakening

    there is a good link on here for budget reloading and lists a few cheap and cheerful extras that you should have.

    I assume you mean the hand loading non press related lee loader, if so these are useful:
    set of Lee powder scoops
    wide mouthed short tumbler or similar(for holding powder to be scooped)
    hardwood mallet (better than plastic IMO)
    Lee Lock stud, case trimmer, chamfer tool, primer pocket cleaner
    a case block (for standing empty cases up in)
    Aldi micrometer and a sliced used case (see "top tips" on bullet comparator)
    A powder funnel (not strictly necessary but does speed things up a little)

    probably £20 worth of gear above.

    obviously some powder primers and bullets of your choice.
    lots of good resource on powders on the manufacturers websites for free.
    lots of videos on youtube on how to do it (tip: view them all and take the best bits from each one, some vids are better than others)
    I am in Edinburgh, happy to show you what I do and use to load 243 and 270 if you get over here at all. at least that way you can see what not to do!
