    Sako Rings

I don't know if anyone out there can help identify what these rings would be suitable for? I picked them up some time ago and - if I ever knew - I've forgotten now.

They are 1" rings (both are inscribed with "25.4") and appear to be quick release. The larger of the two also has "Finland Sako" inscribed on it. As you can see, one of the screws is missing but otherwise they seem to be in good nick.

I know they weren't the same design as the Optilocks on my old Sako 75.

Once I know what they are for I'll likely stick them in Classifieds as the Sako is now history.

I have no idea. I've never owned a Sako rimfire but that's not to say they're not from one, I'm just not familiar enough with Sako rifles.

Hopefully someone on the site can give a definitive answer.

My SAKO Finnfire rimfire does not have the SAKO tapered rail and my S&B 6x42 is mounted with 'normal' 1" ring mounts similar to the mounts my son has on his scoped air rifle.

The sako isn't history, its about to get second wind!!! Watch this space............

The 25.4 is probably just mm i.e. 1"
As mentioned, finfire's don't have tapered dovetails. At least mine doesn't
My guess is they are oldschool optilocs but windage adjustable which is why there are screws on both sides of the base.

I wouldn't consider them quick release though...

They are the old style Sako rings, pre Optilock. Had some on a 1964 Sako, but not that pretty!

Hmmmm are they not for the 590 series?

They would look very nice on my lovely sako A1

i have about 5 sets of these on sako rifles they were the ones supplied with the rifles 25-30 years ago on the old vixen hunter and fin bear models .the 25.4 were an inch and they also done 26mill as German smitt and benders were that tube size . they did come in low medium and high but in those days you never saw many 8-56 scopes only 6-42 4-32 seem to be the morn then . they should still fit any sako but are not optilocks like the new ones are .i have about 3 spare sets i upgraded to optilocks when i invested in 8-56 scopes years ago
