Re driven wild boar in the UK

I was just wondering if it will ever happen to be having driven wild boar days in the UK, same as on the continent.
    Or is it not legal?
    Regards
    Martin

Well it is illegal to drive deer in the UK.

But there is very limited legislation regarding Wild boar.

    Interesting question

There have been 'driven' days but this was where boar were let loose within a fenced enclosure and driven to standing guns. That caused a stir. It would be difficult to organise a european style driven wild hunt here because the numbers of boar aren't quite there yet although there is nothing to stopping someone having a go with some trusted guns if they knew boar were present and land owners were on board.

You might have a problem where the dogs are concerned.

Well if you can use beaters with dogs to move game birds then boar with no status yet are ok too. Nothing says you can't as such.

Since Boar are mammals and not birds... South of the border you'd be limited to two dogs by the hunting Act 2004 .... Not ideal really.

In Scotland we can still flush to guns with dogs under control, or so I believe.
