I took this photo at the Best Practice Event at Strathconnon.

I don't know who the folk were, but it was a FC pickup.

Yes as JCS photo shows, all the FC trucks have a winch fixed in the back but then you have to carry a board for them to slide up. Or a fancy stainless steel trolley.

    Even the big ones. LOL

John, I would say that these guys are about to take this deer off the vehicle and not load it on. Recently saw a L200 pick up at my local garage. Owner had fitted a frame behind cab and attached a hand winch. He also had two ramps (not sure how they attached to vehicle) to allow the winch to pull the beast onto the vehicle. Aux lighting had been fitted.

i think you will find that the deer in the photo was coming out not going in .The FC trucks have a aluminium skid that locates in the tailboard and allows the deer to be winched into the pick up. W.S

John I know you are a fit fellow but doubt you could lift a good red stag in on your own its a real recipe for bad backs.we used to spend ages looking for a steep bank when in scotland.eventually made a slide that folded in half to fit in pickup 2x1 box and a sheet of tin with hinges rough but it worked.
