Lovely! I grew up in that neck of the woods, and spent a lot of time exploring the harbour in a sailing dinghy -much of it trying to avoid getting caught out by the receding tide- but I haven't been back for a while... the lure of Birmingham is clearly as strong as it is unfathomable!
Here are a few more shots taken at the same time. Firstly a couple of shots of teal which were pootering through the soft mud feeding in the margins as the sun went down
I came back home from Christmas shopping on the park and ride bus, which went past holes bay. I noticed all the wildfowl out on the water and the fact that it was low tide so I raced home grabbed my camera and headed back out in the Jeep.
All the photographs were the result of a 20 minute session just as the sun began to set. I was so glad I went back out there as there were some magical lighting conditions, and the call of all the wildfowl was like music to my ears.
I guess probably 98% of the all the other people travelling out of Poole that day didnt even notice!!
Some good wildfowling over there, I shoot other side at Langstone Harbour, do get to do some photography over there with the Sikka Deer, going to try to get some shots of the red squirrels on Brownsea this summer
