Does rain affect accuracy..

.. it got me thinking yesterday after getting a bit damp. If water droplets hit the bullet mid flight surely it would destabilise it slightly? or with it being supersonic would it create its own little bubble around it deflecting the rain and go on unaffected. It might get away with light rain but heavy big drop rain must make a difference. What you think.

Rain drops will not effect accuracy, but atmospheric conditions certainly will. Have a read of a good quality reloading manual and it will explain in detail how atmospheric pressure and altitude effects ballistics.

it may not effect "accuracy" but the %age humidity is always a factor in the long range stuff...or so my copy of Guns and Ammo says!
bullets wading through a 1000yds of rain compared to 1000yds of crisp 30deg desert air have to be effected even if only by a miniscule amount
