.223 Blaser Barrel for sale. Match, fluted, threaded, with mini bolthead and mag

    Hi
Here is a cherished, hardly used .223 Blaser barrel for an R93
It is threaded with a JetZ mod on (but not included), Match weight, fluted, and 48cm in length (from thread to end).
Really good nick, with just a few 'been on a chassis' marks on it.
Shoots a same hole group at 100 yards.
Transaction through my buddy RFD who's in Oxfordshire.
    Looking for 700

Is the barrel factory threaded 18x1?

This looks like it has been chopped down from standard length as the thread should not start on the flutes, can you confirm who did the work?

    Hi
Not factory, as the barrel was customised for me, and I wanted it shortened to accomodate the JetZ moderator. The thread is standard, ie so that JetZ will fit on it.

Yes, the barrel was customised. It was shortened to 48cm, so that with the JetZ moderator fitted, the barrel then becomes the standard length. This improves the balance about 100 fold! The customisation was done through DMC Custom Cartridges. Blaser barrels are so hard that only a very few gunsmiths will thread them. I have had three done now, and whilst it take a little time, the quality of the work is 110%. The 'recess' at the screw end of the JetZ that's built into the moderator, actually fits over the flutes on the barrel, so that once the JetZ is attached the flutes appear to dissapear within the moderator.
I have 6 Blaser barrels that are all now threaded and fluted, bar one, the .375!
I can of course negotiate the sale of the JetZ, but at the moment, it will be going onto this barrel's replacement, as I've bought a fluted, match, 22.250

BTW. You're right in what you say, that factory threaded barrels from Blaser have a 'feathered in' muzzle end as opposed to the threads starting where the fluted area ends. However, it is perfectly fine to have the threads meeting the fluted area.

I'm guessing this is off an R93 and not an R8?
