    Lifting the Christmas gloom

    Hello all

I just thought i would share some pics Rob from alba taxidermy sent through last night.

The reason for the gloom - I came home from a days shooting last thursday feeling a bit average having had a cough for a week and collapsed on the kitchen floor. I went to bed thinking i had flu and the first doctor, annoyed at being called out said i had flu - almost told me to man up..... I went for a second opinion the next day as coughing up frothy bloody mucus is what i expect a deer to do once i have put a bullet through it's lungs.

After hospitalisation, x rays and tests it turns out i had pneumonia. Add to that my grandmother dying I was pretty miserable!

Anyway, Rob has nearly finished the royal from Sept and it cheered me up so here is a pic.

Not allowed out stalking for a bit now but a warning to anyone worried please get checked out, if i had left this another day or so the scarring on my lungs would be a lot more severe.

    Happy Christmas all

Lets hope for a speedy recovery!

I know of someone who thought they had a bad cold and were turned away from the docs under the same circumstances and this person died of pneumonia on the way to hospital. They were late 20s.. so +1 on what you said.

Had the same thing happen to me (non smoker and in good health) 3 years ago thought it was flu Doctor said same and didn't put me on anti-biotics had the same problem for many months told by lung specialist that I had various diseases including Lupus, asbestosis and various other diseases went to another Doctor who after X ray thought due to shadow on the lung it was cancer which resulted in a worrying few weeks hospital and biopsy. Went last Christmas unable to breath into hospital for two weeks with pneumonia and was treated by a Polish lady Doctor who made a diagnosis that the shadow was scar tissue caused by repeated pneumonia. End result two major operations removal of 30% of the left lung and now long term lung damage, moral of the story is dont take your health or the diagnosis of Doctors for granted

Not the best news for Christmas but at last you're getting treatment to get you fit for the spring and summer months. Take it easy and I hope you have a restful festive period.
    Best Regards,
    Adrian.

Give yourself time to recover mate. Very easy to get back out there before you've recovered and end up flat on your back again.

    Have a great festive break.
