    Sending through the post office?!!

Hi, I was told by my RFD to send my rifle back to browning myself at my local post office as it's faulty, they also said not to tell the post office it's a firearm - apart from being a p*ss-take is this even legal????

if you bought it from them, the rfd should sort it, your contract is with them.

I find this is absolutely ridiculous and highly irresponsible of the RFD. If I were you I would telephone your firearms licensing department and report this RFD, and then take the rifle to someone else.

Yep thought so - would you believe it's my rifle range shop and despite the fact I volunteer there this is how they treat me?!! I think they basically just don't want to pay the postage so was nice of them to risk my license and criminal record eh!!!

Apparently I can send it through a proper service but Royal Mail Post Offices definitely do not count - asked my Firearms Officer in the end so no doubt he'll be onto them!

Parcel Force have recently been added to the approved courier list - although you need to be a GTA member to use their service.

Your RFD may be referring to this - although its doubtful.

Sounds like ill informed advice to me and if you purchased the firearm from him, id leave it to them to arrange return.

Or use someone else.....as also recommended...
