what 308 should i go for.

    ok lads.

when i have sold the gun cabinet ill be on the lookout for a cheap 308, im looking for one that will be used from time to time for stalking and in the summer for long range varminting,

i have the zeiss 6.5/20x50 waiting to sit on it and i will be looking for some dies and brass at the same time as the rifle,

i have seen some nice old ruger m77's and a few Parker hales,

my total budget will be about ???.??

i can't tell you that just yet,

but what would you go for, i need something that will not jump about to much, but also be light enough to be humped around the fields from time to time,

cheers for your advice ill sit back and see what pops up.

    thank you

    bob.

i almost went for a lakelander in 243 a few years back , but got the styre instead,

i have found a ruger laminate/stainless in 308 with a 20" barrel looks nice and its there for the taking for just 300, ?? never had a ruger so not sure on this , but its cleaner than clean.

In answer ot the original question, I reckon you should get a stainless laminate ruger.

I'm sure you'll be very happy with one.....
