    Deer seasons.

Is there an easy way of remembering the various seasons?

All I concerned myself with was the open seasons, don't worry about the closed season as it can only be one or the other, that might sound obvious enough, but people on my DSC were getting confussed with this untill I told them this.

Not the best answer you were after, but it worked for me and them eventually.

    Deer Seasons

I have produced a small table with the seasons on in credit card size and then laminated it, England one side and Scotland the other, I also managed to get the Animal Health Department phone numbers for the areas that I stalk included, keep copies in the car, my wallet and the office, also gave copies to stalking friends.

Sorry for the tone of this reply but......

if you dont know the seasons of the beasts you intend to shoot you should not be out with a rifle in pursuit of the quarry.

The seasons are very easy to check out before you go out stalking,
but not easy to remember if you are swotting for a DCS1 test......

    Dear Mr Faulty,

If you can work a computer to see a forum then you can also check the BASC web-site or BDS etc. Lots of reading material for you.

    http://www.bds.org.uk/close_seasons_for_deer.html

Tools are their to help if you are less myopic.

The ABC's of stalking are covered in the DMQ level 1 and no wonder the powers that be deem it to be a pre-requisite, and yet the DMQ get dogs abuse.

I will not interfere any more as i DO NOT want to upset you as you are obviously a sensitive soul (with a gun).

THIS IS A PERSONAL ATTACK WHICH I TAKE OFFENCE TO.
All i asked was how people remember them off by heart, it`s a fesible question.
No wonder forums are going down the pan every day.
I will be forwarding a complaint to admin.
