Basic dog training in West Sussex

My sister has a Beagle cross about 4 months old and she wanted to find somewhere in our area to do some basic dog training. Does anyone know of anywhere in West Sussex (preferably near Petworth, Midhurst, Pulborough) that does good, basic dog training classes?

    Thanks

    Adam

Hope your sister is fairly young so having lots of years to spend and has the patience of a Saint. The words training and Beagle never usually go together. A person I used to work beside took her Beagle pup to training classess. 4 years later she was still going. I think her dog had learned to sit - sometimes. Lovely dogs with character but boneheaded and stubborn.
But don't tell her, winding up sisters is a sport in itself.

Have heard of this club before. Looks like it not too far from Pulborugh

Have seen quite a few beagles competing in the higher levels of agility unusually

I'm not sure what this means and does not do anything to answer the op's question, it makes even less sense now that I have edited out the advertising.

Thanks, I'll pass those links on to her - if he is ever obedient enough I am thinking of training him for deer (see another thread) but she certainly wants to get the basics down, she has had dogs before but wants to make sure she is getting everything right

Great Dog trainer near Petersfield is Shirley Oxford email taranbeck@tiscali.co.ukbut also a good site for Beagles is Beagle Pictures, Information Forum | Beagles Unlimited which has load of training info and some good deer dog and tracking advice
I tried once with a Beagle for Deer - it was great at the job but nuts personality wise, so it now works as a search and rescue dog where it is regarded as a star

Thanks very much, info passed on He certainly matches the profile you've given there - great nose, but nutty temperament!
