Thread: Thread protector wanted - size m18x1

    Thread protector wanted - size 5/8th's

    Guys does anyone have a thread protector they would sell me that would fit my Tikka varmint heavy barrel .243 stainless

    I think it now may be a 5/8th thread.........anyone got one they could let me try/ buy if it fits

    i am just clearing out loads and i mean loads of my stuff for sale, i may have some in there. not sure there is a 18x1 but if there is its yours mate.

    Hi Bob ,
    I am also sad to say its not an m18x1 thread , pault sent me one today and it's too big......a real shame cause it matched my barrel perfectly in colour.......so i am not not sure what size protector i need....any advice ?????

    its it factory threaded? I think all factory threaded heavy barrels are m18x1. My 308 is m18x1.

    Not sure if it's an after market thread job..........it looks perfectly well done.......i'll post a pic tomorrow to see if anyone can hazard a guess at this

    I'm fairly sure all varmints come out the factory m18x1 no matter the calibre. If its been threaded by a gunsmith it could be 14x1.

    The tikka varmint barrels are threaded m18x1.
    If it was done by a gunsmith it could be 5/8x18unf as that is the thread a lot of them put on the heavy barrels.
