Steyr Luxus Take Down Rifle in 30-06 with .243 spare barrel

I bought this rifle from Eddy, aka EMcC in August and took delivery of it in October. I have used it twice on the range and fired a total of 16 rounds through the 30.-06 barrel. I have not used the .243 barrel as I have three other .243s.

On the two occassions that I used the rifle, it shot as you would expect. Groups were under the inch mark without a moderator and having never used this calibre before I was surprised by the apparent lack of recoil for such a light rifle. I bought it on a whim but as I only use my Blasers in the field, I am adequately covered by my .308 and .300 Win Mag. I am happy to pass this rifle on to somebody who will get better use out of it. I think I paid GBP 1300 for it and would be happy to let it go for same. Equally, I am happy to keep it if there is no interest. I will post a few photos later this evening.

Both barrels are screw cut (will check with Eddy as to the dimensions) and they come with the following accessories:

    One set of 30mm mounts.
A Steyr penknife tool which is used for disassembling and assembling the gun.
    A travel case

    Many thanks

if you had not purchased this from eddy when you did i was going to have it,

i now have a 243 and a 308 in place of these, i love the steyr rifles and would have been over the moon at that time with them,

i no longer have the cash as i spent it on the 2 rifles above,

    stunning is not the word.

goo luck with the sale, and ill miss them all over again.

    hi Bob

If there are no takers, I am quite happy to put it on hold until your circumstances change. I am quite relaxed either way.

All the best and thanks for interest

Good luck with the Sale Conor, if it weren't for those blasted French laws on.30-06's I'd be all over this!

Hope you are keeping well buddy. Have to say I think gun ownership in Switz is turning out to be a joy! Must have beer and maybe even a shoot sometime.

    ATB,

    Hi Mike

It is a very tome consuming and expensive hobby, gun ownership in Switzerland! Heard a rumour that the French might soften their rules regarding military calibres.......

Even the wife has to make an appointment to see me at the moment!

I'd heard that too boyo. I was chatting to a couple of local gun smiths in Geneva and they say that it has been on the cards for sometime but never happens.

Time consuming indeed. Am thinking of trying to fix myself upwith a 1911...
