new rifle 6.5 x 47 lapua - long range fallow basher

Just thought I’d post a couple of pics of my new tool – I’ll try to get some better ones when cosmetic work is done after load development. Specified and selected to hold best accuracy for multiple shots on deer to the full range of the TDS reticle. Load development starts this weekend. Number 1 son says it feels like a shooter!!

Sako 75 action 3 (previously owned by willie gunn)
Mcmillan sako 75 stock – pillar bedded (soon to be duracoat “sako green”)
LW super match grade – super magnum sporter profile, finished in the raw – invisible thread cap – recessed target crown– 24” long (ish depending on where you measure it from)
    Third eye Spartan mod
    Swarovski pvi2 6-24x50 tds4i

    My type of gun!!

Next rifle I have planned will be in this calibre and after picking up a nice Sako 591 in 22-250 recently, it may also be the basis for a similar build or it will be on a full custom action.

I'll be interested to see how the load development goes. Personally, 100grn BT will be the bullet in mine for what I intend using it for.

Dabpd on here convinced me it was the calibre to go for.

    Jealous!!!

Swarovski pvi2 6-24x50 tds4i .nice one garry-very similar to mine same barrel, same scope, tikka action though.you will not be disappointed-mine shot a first group of .2inch with 95 grain v max which I intend for foxes.what powder are you going for-I have kept it simple with varget which also is my preferred choice for my 22-250.a.t.b.Richard.
