STOKED by AL BROWN Cooking with Fire

Book recommendation for those of you who are after the best book available at the moment bar none!

Stoked by Al Brown is a fantastic New Zealand cookbook and has brilliant hunting fishing and foraging recipes, not too mention some of the best photography you will see in a cookbook.

How many cook books have you seen with photos of a Sako 85 Finnlight or a Sika stag in the back of a ute!

At the moment you can buy it direct from

Also worth a look is the Hunger for the Wild series which is similar to the old Nick Nairn series Wild Harvest but being set in NZ they go pig hunting, eel fishing, deer stalking, Tahr hunting etc etc. then cook up a dish with whatever they have been after.

Link to video that does a bit more justice to the book.

Apologies for dragging up an old thread, but having just had the book delivered to me as a gift, I was interested to see that hunger for the wild is showing on the Good Food channel, I'd be interested to see what it's like. The book is an excellent read.
