JVR, don't mean to be smart, but can you confirm it is definitely an M14x1 thread and not a 15x1? 15x1 seems to be the Blaser norm on standard profile barrels.

    Cheers
    Brian.

    Kev,

I can't speak for JVR but I have 14x1 threads on my 6.5X55 and 7X57 barrels and they are factory threaded.

No problem John. I have had a couple of Blaser barrels which were 15x1. I woul buy this barrel, but if it is M14 I would need a new moderator.

    I will hold off for a 15x1.

My 243 Blaser barrel factory threaded m15x1 with spigot

Both my 30-06 and .243 are 15 x 1 with spigot, Blaser factory threaded.
It seems a bit odd to have a selection of threads coming out of the factory doesn't it.
Perhaps they are specifically asked for by the UK importer because of the stock of 14x1 threaded moderators available to him.

I may be missing something but the original thread states m15 x1 thread

The OP went back and measured the thread and changed the post from "14x1" to 15x1.

Now if he would just take a sensible offer....

Can somebody please explain to me as a layman what the difference is between a 14x1 and a 15x1.

Does it effect performance with certain bullet weights or what? and how can I find out if my Blasers are 14 or 15?

    Thank you
