    Custom foxing rifle spec

    hello,
I have been mulling around in my head what would be classed as the ideal foxing rifle package.
This is not youre usual whats the best foxing calibre but more geared towards a custom build spec for the rifle itself including the overall finished weight.
I have been thinking about this as I find merits and disadvantages with my rifles regarding this scenario as one rifle is light and handy while the other is heavy and stable etc etc there are many swings and roundabouts.
First of what action would you use as the starting point, im not talking about whizzed up tikkas etc im more interested in precision manufactured actions like RG or surgeon or rpa etc?
    What trigger?
What stock? Thumbhole non thumbhole? I quite like the mcmillan m4 meself.
    Barrel length, profile.
    What moderator?
What scope? Is there really a need for turrets on a foxing setup if the correct reticle is used?
Bipod? Is this item really needed?
Does calibre choice reflect on youre rifle spec?
The list goes on, I would just be interested to hear peoples
views and setups. And maybe see a few pics aswell.

    Regards

best be quick if you want a rg action. russ only has two left as he isn't making them anymore has he doest have the time with building rifles also.
i see on ukvarminting he has a long action or a single shot short action left.

Having used a pal's who swears by it and has now converted me it i would go 20BR in a single shot action 5 profile fluted barrel about 22 long I would suggest stiller actions but RG are impressive if not more expensive, lots of options one piece bolts , m16 extractors , pinned rails and lugs , good availably and lots of people using them to build rifles in the uk, and i import them so if you have any questions pm me.

In fact one of my next demo rifles will be this set up.

will an "off the shelf item" not do the job just the same?

Here is another vote for a custom 20BR.

Mine is based on a Sako 75 III action, in a Macmillan stock. 22 inch barrel.

Made in London. Rounds feed from a mag. DM80 over the barrel mod.

I shoot fox's with both my rifles, .22-250 AI and .257 AI although most have been shot with the 22-250.
This rifle is built on a Stiller Predator solid bottom single shot action and carries a 1:14 twist Lilja stainless fluted Senderro contour barrel.
Its is fired off by a Rifle Basix trigger set at 12oz and is all pillar bedded into a matt black Mcmillan Winchester Marksman stock.
Scope is a Leupold VXIII 6.5-20x50 LRT in leupold Dual dovetail rings and bases.
Load consists of 52grn Berger Match Varmint in Nosler Custom brass for a velocity of 3940fps.
