    .270 ammunition

Hi All, is there any difference in ammunition size for .270 and .270 winchester? for either factory ammo or brass cases for home loading, all answers most welcome

I'm not quite sure what you mean?

but if it helps, one observation i've made is that i can't get as much powder into a rws case as i can with a norma case.

what i was trying to ask was if you buy a .270 or a .270 winchester, do they all use same size brass and is factory ammunition the same for both, hope this helps

I am no great expert but 270 and 270 winchester are one and the same. The only one that is not to my knowledge is a 270 wetherby which is a different case and is a magnum round.

This list has 5 different 270s on it. 4 of them can be fed with factory ammunition.

There are more, so knowing which one you are after is important. Keeping in mind we are in the UK, so finding anything other than 270 Win will be unusual.

There is at least sixteen cartridges that use a .270 bullet.
So now you just have to decide which one.

I think the key to this might be that here in the UK, in general, when people talk about a 270 they mean the 270Win. However, as has been made clear, it is far from the only cartridge available with the 270 designation. If your FAC comes back and you are unclear about what it allows, or doesn't allow, then it would be worth talking to them to be sure that you are clear on what is allowed.
