Sporting Rifle had an article on Caribou hunting in the March issue and Moose hunting in this month's mag, both in Canada. Both good write up's.

When I play "If I won the Lotto", this is what I come up with: http://www.widrig.yk.ca/

A ten-day wilderness horseback moose hunt in the Yukon Territory. In fact, that's why I'm taking up deerstalking. That way, when I suddenly find a buried treasure in my garden, I will be able to leap at the opportunity. And then I will finally be the Greatest Hunter in Ealing!

(I may already be actually, there's not much competition).

7 hours in the saddle would`nt be fit to walk let alone stalk...

You'd be sore, but Western-style saddles are designed for long-distance travel and hands-free working. They're like armchairs compared to English-style saddles. Anyway I don't care, I'd put up with it, it would be worth it. As an aside, when I was at the self-check-in machines at Toronto airport last summer, I saw that they ask you whether you're carrying any hunting firearms or hunting by-products such as meat or trophies. As my wife said: "In Canada, you're normal".

Somehow, it wouldn't feel like as much of an adventure on foot though.
