    Chrony - remote control

Hi found info to make a remote control for chrony chronographs.
Easy to make and cheap with all parts available from maplins.

    Chrony - remote control

Had a go at making one for my Chrony F1 as the link above does not seem to work.

    Materials:
    - stereo 3.5mm socket (mono sockets will not work)
    - momentary push switch
    - 2 short thin wires
    - Heat shrink (I used some rubber sleve recovered from an old pen)

Solder the switch linking the Ring and Sleve poles from the stereo socket

    End result:

Now you can use any suitable length of stereo jack to jack cable to connect to your chrony

Chrony F1 does not have a function button in the front as chrony alpha.
This button acts like one and one.

My F1 Chrony doesn't have any function button or jack socket so I don't think I can make this button thing work! ---- Yes it is that old! It came (many years ago) with cardboard screens that the sky filters clip on to instead of the wire supports that more recent ones sport. I have fitted polycarbonate blast screens front & back (used it for muzzle loaders & shotguns so wanted to protect it - Not managed to wreck it yet. - It had a close shave when my friend's moderator blew in half & clobbered the front blast screen breaking a lump off. I was amazed that the Chrony was working afterwards! It is a testament to its build quality. I used it this week to advise a friend what velocity he was achieving from his 6.5x55.

You need to lend it out to some of your mates (on condition they replace it they shoot it) You'll have a new one before long.

I made a bunch of these several years ago and sold them on E bay.
