    French Farce

Just listened to the news from Toulouse about the terrorist - shot 22 times by the french police and the politicians complaining that they wanted him alive - how else would you deal with an armed, body armoured killer other than use deadly force - especially when he has killed 7 and wounded three of your colleagues in the siege.

Are politicians connected to reality! Noticed that they didn't offer to go in and persuade him to surrender.

Looking at the wider picture, wasn't this the best way to deal with it? Tell the public you want him alive, but give the cops a free hand to finish it off as necessary. That way the bleeding heart bed-wetters can feel righteous as they sit reading their Guardians (or the French equivalent), and the bad guy gets slotted!

If the news filtering out from France is accurate then I think those in charge have some very tough times ahead with some questions that are to be answered.

It appears that AFTER detaining members of his family, 3 officers go to his apartment door and suprisingly enough, he lets loose with an AK 47 shooting 2 of them, thankfully not fatally.

Also, the staggered involvement of various Agencies and Departments. There are guys who do this sort of thing very well but they are not Politicians and will not be concerned about the Medias take on things.

They are the people who should run these jobs and if the wheel does come off, held accountable when the dust settles.

As far as the photos of the French Interior or Justice Minister crouched behind the armoured police vehicle at the apartment when it was all going down. I don't see him as a politician who has his finger on the pulse as it were. Just someone else getting in the road of guys trying to do their job!

Well done to all those who brought about this animals demise!

A simple and efective solution to the problem I think, it saved the french taxpayer thousands in trial costs and prison fees and protection! excellent way to deal with a person like this, but then its France.

Not quite sure how, other than sending two or three hardcore dogs in that they could have taken him alive.
It just makes you wonder what information he has taken with him.

At the end of the day he certainly deserved to die, maybe not quite so soon and quickly.

Probably shot only 22 times as the police had to stop to reload...

Could have used a russian solution to the problem, gas.

Or do what his comrades do.. behead him then burn his body and drag it throught the streets behind a pickup slowing down to let the peaceful members of the little village have a boot at his remains as was done so many times to westerners in Iraq?
