A well trained Lab will out perform a poorly trained BMH all day long

If you get a good if you get two good trainers then the BMH should be better at the trailing long distance finding. But if you have two bad trainers then the lab will win because it will do it naturally. Why do you ask jim are you thinking of getting one of these breeds?

having got both , and both trained on deer , my BMH strips shreds off my lab .

xena has tracked at a distance just under a mile , and on a seperate time she tracked a muntjac for 800 yds and the track was 48hrs old .

poor old ginge (my lab) looses interest after 300 -400 yds.

if your thinking if getting either of these breeds , you have to ask yourself the following question -

how many deer a yr do i shoot ?

if the anwser is 10-20 get a lab , 20 der and over get a BMH

silple as that in my opinion !
