Hi All, can anyone tell me how much a synthetic stock is for a t3, it would be as a replacement for a hunter wooden stock, how much are they and has anyone any info on where to get them from?

IMHO you should check out PSE composites

great stock, superb service and easy to get hold of as they are based in Ireland. cost I think is around the €550 mark depending on what you go for.

Yes buying a standard tikka plastic stock from the uk agent here would probably be close to the price of mcmillan!

do you think it will make much difference apart from being more weather resistant, does it affect the zeroing much if you swap them over?

zeroing will change!! and as far as difference the PSE is very light and very stiff, doesn't get affected by atmospheric changes (humidity etc) so will retain its free floating characteristics. and depending on your existing setup, a better head position for your eye and cheek weld.

"Redhawk Rifles" in the States do Bell and Carlson stocks in a variety of colours for the T3 and all barrel channel fits. I brought one home from the States and have purchased from this side as well, should cost you about £225, you will probably get hit for the duty at this end, about £30 but it still makes it worthwhile compared to some of the importers prices, mention Craigellat it may help. I find it to be a very stable stock, straight drop in, action chassis insert so no bedding. It changed my rifle from being accurate to scarey and is an easier carry as well. Best of luck.

You got any photos of the rifle and stock. I want a new one for my T3 Lite but can't quite fnd what I'm after. Would prefer a thumbhole or pistol grip type.

My boss says that a replacement factory tikka plastic stock cost £400. I think he was off his head for paying this.

Funny this thread has come up i have brought a few shipments of B&C in to the uk , and noticed these t3 stocks on there a little while ago , and have been contemplating bringing a batch of them in. if the are built and priced like the tactical ones they will be very good value and will built.

give your wooden one a wipe over with an oily rag after a day in the rain and it will not only look nice (as opposed to the plastic), but it wil also do exactly the same as the plastic, AND you don't have to pay extra for it. It will only warp and change POI if you leave it around wet for too long - IMHO. you're better off with a decent wooden stock than any factory plastic, and a specialist synthetic will cost you almost as much as the rifle, AND it might still need fitting and bedding..waste of time, then you should have just bought a more expensive rifle like a sako fromt the get-go.

if you're really concerned about warping and POI change, why not just spend £200 on your wooden one being glass/pillar bedded and open the barrel channel a bit more?

yes think your right, i have a tikka 243 synthetic so will keep the wooden stock on the 308, and use the money towards my level 2 thanks for all the info everyone:tiphat:

good choice my man, and I guarantee you that synthetic .243 will not be in your cabinet when you consider passing the firearms on to another generation, but the wooden stocked ones will!

Would still be interested in the photos but I took the plunge anyway and ordered one in green with the black web effect. The nice chap accepts Paypal so no need to send your bank details across the pond. Hopefully have it here and fitted in a few weeks as we have a full bore Sclub shoot coming up.

$220 and $42 postage and I expect a £30 - 40 customs fee on top of that. Still works out at around £200 all in, not seen any stocks in the UK for around that price that have the machined block in them.
