    Members titles

    Hi
Have noticed that some members are described as members, SD regulars, Distinguished members etc. What does it all mean? Is a distinguished member aristocracy?
Just wondering if there is a secret scale of membership? Not that it is very secret, as it is shown on every thread.

    Hello Pilgrimmick,

I was given a Distinguished Member title. One of the SD Members contacted Admin about a year ago I believe and thought that some people deserved recognition for achievments gained through the Site.

    Here is the initial thread-

    >>HERE<<

I still maintain that it is the Site Members who contributed the the Auctions and Raffles that deserved the recognition, I was just the point of contact for it, but the recognition was still appreciated.

Position and hold must be firm enough to support the firearm
The firearm must point naturally at the target without any undue physical effort
Sight alignment (aiming) must be correct
The shot must be released and followed through without disturbing the position

These seem to me to be the thresholds.

    (1+) NewMember

    (10+) Member

    (100+) Established Poster

    (200+) RegularPoster

    (500+) SD Regular

There aren't any criteria for content or worth so the post count isn't a qualitative measurement.

The introduction of 'Distinguished Member' etc. seems to address this shortcoming. You can for instance generate a qualifying post count using monosyllabic responses or even more useless " +1 " entries.

I shouldn't get too worried about this. It's a very friendly site, and most of the members have a sense of humour.
If I'm going to be accused of it then it's just as well I did it.

I wouldn't want it any other way.
