I'm not, but would be interested to know as well.

I will have a look as I am sure I have some load data for the 303 and N140 somewhere. Possibly in a Guns review article. Will have a look in daylight.

So why haven't you checked out VV's web site? They have the data there.
    Lee's handbook also has it.~Muir

In France at the present. Will look in my notebooks for an N140 load that DUPLICATED sight settings on an SMLE and No4 out to 500 yards! Hope it helps....but please be patient!

I use 40grs of vit 140 in my smle sporter with 174 gr fmjs for range work . loads start @ 38/39 grs up to 42grs as i remember ?. I also use 23grs of Imr 4198 with cast boolits which work well also. and also 2400 works well useing 14-19 grs.

Had a quick look on the Vit page , 38.4 to 41.7 for the 175g boolits.

Not really what you asked for but here goes. I didn't get very good results with either n130 or n140 but have been getting 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups out of my scoped 303 with Hodgdons BLC 2.

I currently use privi 170 grain FMJ's (target) and Sierra 150 grain pro hunters (deer/fox)

NRA Mk 7 BALL - FLAT BASE: 42.0 Grains. Using correct Commonwealth made Mk 7 bullets as against the 180 grain S & B steel jacket boat-tail bullets. In No4 this shoots "on" at 500 yards with the leaf sight set at 500 yards. It appears not "quite" as accurate as the S & B bullets.

S & B 180 FMJ BOAT-TAIL: 41.5 Grains. This load is as accurate as the 42.0 grains load and shoots to same point of aim.

S & B 180 FMJ BOAT-TAIL: 42.0 Grains. This load shoots a good group in the Ishapore SMLE. Also shoots to point of aim at 200 yards in same rifle but HIGH at 500 yards. Thrown charge.

Hope it helps. 41.5 or 42.0 was pretty much the standard recipe used by all the "Classic Rifle" boys in the 1980s and for good reason. It worked!
