    Charlie?

Silly question but... I'm not from the UK, and I'm curious as to why foxes get called Charlie. Any clues?

    Mr Charles Reynard Fox Esquire

Purveyor of small and large game throughout the whole year

Old name going back a few years, as they had at that time mystic and a certain amount of respect from the Hunting and game shooting fraternity as a crafty little gentlemen most worthy of pursuit, if you could catch him.
