AM or PM stalks, which do you prefer?

As per title. Do you prefer AM or PM.
Do you find one more productive for one or all species?
Does it make any difference to your time depending on the time of year?

Would be interested if this shows any general consensus.
    Cheers guys.

    Good question.

I always prefer AM for roe and red as (for me) it's alot more successful. For sika I find it's a 50/50 split. Other factors include time of year as in winter I will often stalk all day. But to choose one overall definetly AM.

    Cheers

    Hi Woodmaster,

Always preferred "am" stalks for roe, mainly because in the evening you are always fighting the light. Always seem to find more time during the morning.

dont matter as long as i am out there both have their good points and does depend on the ground a bit ie walkers, farmtraffic ect what i have found especially with fallow that mid morning through to early afternoon can be productive too .so i dont mind an all day bender from time to time

I love stalking at any time. Mornings are great, seeing Tue day break, dawn chorus. Equal success morning or evening.

I had thought it possible that although fighting the light it may be that deer are begining to come out in more numbers ready for their nights feeding during the evening so greater chance of more to see rather than the opposite with the morning where more will be starting to rest up for the day in cover having filled their bellies. Any sense in my thinking?
