Found this Roe buck this morning... Cat kill?

On the way to the hill this morning we came across this on the glen road, we werent too far behind it as it was still warm, it has been very efficiently killed, a few bites around the throat and a broken neck. To me it seems too "clean" for a dog, the bite marks are too delicate.

I have set a camera up but I doubt itl be back after we were poking around at it.

You can see the meat has been "cut" and not torn at.

    Thought?
There is a place on this planet for all of God's creatures, right next to my tatties and gravy!!!

Did you take any hair/blood samples from around the wounds? DNA test ? A bit CSI, but just a thought.

If somebody wants to pay for the test then they can take the whole carcass

If the boss would cough up I would

Try contacting the department or people involved with this. A university already has funding and might be in their interest to do it.

doesnt look like anything special to me, from the pics. might be different though seeing it on site . I hope it's a cat and you get pics.
As to sharp, there's not a hell of a lot out there sharper than a fox,s tusks when it's meant , like someone having a go with a stanley knife!
