    Another big cat Aberystwyth

Seems that the Beast of Bont has struck again slaughtering 20 sheep in West Wales. I got this from the Daily Telegraph"........I can't link to it because I'm new to the world of Apple!

Would anybody shoot it if they came across it? I'm thinking magnum 30 cal and upwards. Would it need to be specifically stated on your FAC "Big Cats or Dangerous Animals" ?

every time i watch big cats on tv documentaries they stop hunting and start eating with the first kill they don't waste energy chasing 19 to be dogs.

In my experience limited to african big cats they don't go in for multiple kills. As for shooting one make damn certain you kill first shot otherwise they turn spiteful and you become the hunted. Lions go round in a fishhook movement and then charge whereas leopards just charge from cover when you get close. If the ground was read spoor marks would be found. NO NAILS retractile claws. Leopards tend to store uneaten prey in trees. All bites/scratches go septic in survivors. After the hospital checks how you are going to pay treated in " dirty room ".

I'm not convinced either. More likely died of something else and scavenged.

Section 161 of the Highways Act 1980 (England & Wales) makes it an offence to discharge a firearm within 50 ft of the centre of a highway with vehicular rights without lawful authority or excuse, if as a result a user of the highway is injured, interrupted or endangered.
