Steyr 308 lightweight - the ideal hill rifle

Steyr Ultralight (1170 retail) with wood upgrade (cost 200) in 308. just over 7 lbs with full mag and scope ready to shoot. Fired less than 100 rds so it really is absolutely as new 850 ovno. It comes in a Plastic carry case with all original documentation.

This was bought for the hill. I wanted a real lightweight rifle and expected to see it used 2 or three times a year in Scotland but age and infirmity takes its toll and I doubt I could even carry that weight for far now over those steep and rocky landscapes north of the border.

It is threaded (and reproofed) and presently has a muzzle brake fitted that reduces the felt recoil by at least 45%. To remove - loosen grub screw and unscrew. The brake is my own adaptation based on the PH design of the late '80's and has just been painted presently - I can arrange powder coating before sale if so wished.

The Ultralight has a single set trigger and both pull weights can be adjusted and set independently. Push forward for set position. New trigger springs are fitted but the originals are included.

Anyone seriously interested can come for a days Fallow stalking to try it out before spending their money.

I am adding this addendum because some people feel the rifle is being advertised with scope.

Please note the mention of the scope was simply to offer a guide to the lightness of an all up weight.

The scope shown on the rifle is a Diavari 5-15x42 Zeiss (the lightest quality scope made at that magnification) and although I hadn't intended to sell it I would do so for 650 with the rifle only. The scope has seen the same use as the rifle.

Do you know if the Steyr ultralight is still available anywhere, I'd like to buy my ageing father a second hand one, but I'm struggling to find them? Thanks
