Thread: Poll Part 2 - What is your involvement with Deer?

Poll Part 2 - What is your involvement with Deer?

Another Poll to try and get an idea of the experience of members on the forum. Of course, its worth saying that a massive amount can be learnt about deer by time spent in the field observing and without taking a shot so I am going to try to take this into account by posting part 3!

Quantity of deer shot is inclusive of deer taken by a trainee or client when you are present and responsible for the carcass.

    Your vote is anonymous!

Out of interest to hear peoples opinions and to keep the poll going here is a few questions,

    1. What would be the minimum quantity of deer shot per year for building a steady increase in knowledge and experience?
    2. What additional resources or instruction/teaching is required to ensure correct learning and preventing bad habits?

Never shot a deer, done a fair bit of larder work and deer watching and been out stalking in the New Forest with one of the nature reserve wardens and just passed my DSC1

    Lets hope not!

I've two more weeks of college to get out of the way and then hopefully will have some time AND some money to get the FAC and some ground sorted and get that first deer and then start towards my DSC2

I'd have been very surprised if it had been a wild one! Just interested in their breeding. Perhaps I ought to start a thread to find out more.
