Berger .243 115g VLD hunting bullets

    Good morning gents

I was just browsing the Midwayuk site and came across these heavyweight .243 bullets.

    http://www.midwayuk.com/apps/eproduc...eItemID=504813

Purely as a matter of interest (because I don't reload) - would the 15g extra make much useful difference compared to 100g bullets in terms of stopping power?

I appreciate they wouldn't fit in the magazine, and that your rifle twist rate would need to be on the high side - just curious really.

    Anybody ever used them?

    Cheers

    Daemon

    Daemon,

If you have a look at the Berger site...
    http://www.bergerbullets.com/Product...20Bullets.html

They list a 1-7 twist. The VLD's are good bullets, but because of their length, limit their application to custom built rifles. Hence the reasoning for their "LTB" (Length Tolerant Bullet) line of bullets, a compromise between the VLD's high BC and the need for them to function in factory twist rifles...
