Pheasants will eat spent .22 cases

I have been told that ground feeding pheasant are likely eat any spent cases left laying in the woods.

News to me but I wondered if anyone could confirm this has ever happened

    Cheers

I can't believe they would have the brass neck to eat empty cases.
Below is a link to my website.
    Quad sticks

The lack of comments confirms what I thought!

The bloke who states this is an unpaid helper at the syndicate where I shoot and his bluster is wearing a bit thin with me

    It would probably kill it
If it did manage to swallow it properly, I would think it would never get passed
If it just got stuck in the crop , then the chances are it will not be able to regurgitate and again directly or indirectly killing it
So not that good if it did happen I would think

well,if this is really a potential problem then the wildfowling/banning lead entirely has a strong case, dont you think???

    Not really
a case is normally brass not lead and also nothing to do with this post
    C'mon get a grip please
You asked what the potential problem was if the odd shell was swallowed
Now go measure a .22rf case compared to a no4 lead shot and tell me what the difference effects would likely to be if swallowed
    Then let's discuss
