.243 - 87gn or 75gn v max not shot a huge number of roe by some peoples standards but enough to form an opinion, i would say 90-95% of roe i have shot from 40 - 250 yds + have dropped on the spot be it neck or h/l shots.
Yes before anyone jumps in they will cause a varying degree of meat damage maybe more than some others, if the carcass is for home im not bothered about some bruising to the ribs.
If im selling the venison i will neck shoot if poss with a good rest, if not i will leave if for another day. DF
 
Norma Oryx 180grn in my 308 for every thing. 157grn Oryx or a dose of #1s in my combi for roe.
 
70 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip in the 243
115 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip in the 25-06
130 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip in the 270
140 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip in the 280
168 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip in the 300wm
 
7mm, 140 gr Partition, does the job perfectly every time. Having said that I'm changing calibre to .308 soon and I'll be using 150 gr Partition, will see how it goes.
