    mounting nv posing problems

ive been given a bagish 2nd gen nv and it seems like a decent bit of kit but i cant get any fittings/mounting system to fit,ive bought a picattiny rail but themounts on the scope dont open wide enough and are no where near the right angle so ive had a think and a good engineer or gun smith may be able to machine a flat plate and screw it to the locating holes on the scope body that holds the origonal mounts then id need 2 standard mounts that slip onto the picatinny rail with the tops machined off so they could be countersunk and screwed to the flat plate,if anyone managed to follow that your thoughts please
only when the last tree has been felled, the last fish caught and the last river poisoned will man realise he cant eat money
