Ruger M77 MkII .243 waiting for my FAC

I've put in for my FAC and put a deposit down with my RFD on a very nice second hand Ruger .243 with Tasco 8x50 scope and T8 moderator. I popped over to try the rifle tonight before making my final decision and I have to say I am very impressed. The barrel has been floated and the trigger wound down from 5lb to about 2lb pull.

The red ring is around my three shots with the rifle, this was the first time I had used it and I was shooting seated off a bench.

We used PPU 100grain factory ammo.

I think I'll be buying that!

Nice one Adam, I told you that you could shoot well!...Looks like a well built rifle, though I have no experience of ruger c/f rifles, if that is your 1st group then you are on a winner....ATVB...Mark

    very nice Adam,

i free floated my old 308 rugger mkII and it shot like a dream less than a 1/2 group (only 3 shots), the rifle is with my local RFD as he purchased it from me as i needed the cash, i wish i could have kept it, and that looks like a cracking deal and i think you'll be well happy.

good solid and reliable working tool.

Ive shot with a Ruger M77 MkII synthetic/stainless for many years and it has had a lot of rough treatment out on the hill....never lets me down.

I find it likes Norma 100 grain soft points.

I would look for a better bit of glass though ! .... S&B 8x56 would be my advice

Thanks Mark, the practice with the air rifle has definitely paid off

Yeah, the Tasco is fine for daylight shooting and nice and accurate, but I think I'll need something a bit better for dawn/dusk shooting from what I have read - It'll do nicely for now so I can get plenty of practice in on paper while I save up the readies for something a bit better
