Put in my variation on Tuesday.

Phoned on Wednesday get an email to send a scan copy of my DSCL1.

Got cleared for 6.5 x 55 on Friday morning on the door mat.

If only other organisations (the bloody agarages I've had to deal with recently) were half this good.

Good service, just a bit worrying that they have asked for your DSC1, I cannot see any legal requirement for that.
Looks like the thin end of a wedge to me.

Might be getting more popular in FLDs, Gloucestershire would ask for DSC1 on first-time application for a .243 or above.

They didn't. When I first got my FAC centre fire they put accompanied for using it until I had passed probation or passed DSC1. I just forgot to add it as they could then change the wording on my FAC. To be fair it said accompanied until such time, so carrying the DSC copy worked just as well - it just made things clearer their end.
