    Abnormality in Rabbits?

Didn't reckon to put this in the disease / welfare bit, as it's deer specific, but has anyone found anything like a clear gelatinous growth in the chest cavity attached to the sternum?, no pics, but very similar to those things you find on beaches from the Whelks egg case balls, but much smaller in mass.

Yes, many moons ago when over run with rabbits. A small proportion of them had this, never found out what it was just left them for the Red Kites & Buzzards to enjoy.

Just glad someone else has seen this!, thought I was losing it.

    what is in the cyst?

I had one the other day which looked like it had a water blister under its shoulder
when popped it was exactly that..water.

looked nasty but no redness or infection

Agreed, sounds like tape worm cyst. Watery pocket/blister filled with little white dots?

I find these cysts as you describe quite regularly in rabbits. I always discard rabbits with the cysts as not sure what they are, although was recently told they might be dog-tapeworm cysts? Not sure if these worms are dangerous to human health or not?
