    1 for 1 question

I have a "full bore" sound moderator on my FAC under "
Can I swap it for a .222Rem without incurring the 26 fee?

have no intention of bastadising my nice .270 muzzle now it is all nice and shiney. does this count for a 1 for 1?

It is technically down as firearms I am able to purchase or acquire!

Hello B500, Iam unsure..do you have to send your FA ticket in for this???, what if your moderator blows up, would you have to apply for another showing the shattered remains, I think if it is on your ticket to have a moderator, then it follows that you do not need to inform FA Dept, that said I will be very interested to read what others think, in any event you forgot to doff your hat!!

Yes you can do the swap and Yes it's F.O.C. ... i.e. ... it does indeed count as a 1 for 1.

Furthermore, Lothian and Borders (Fettes HQ)... which I believe to be your licensing force, confirmed exactly this before we submitted our variations (Mine to Strathclyde and My son's to L&B). We each swapped an unused 30 cal moderator slot for permission to acquire/ jointly possess a .22 Hornet rifle and ammo. This was about 4 months ago and I'm unaware of any changes that materially alter matters.

About 5 weeks ago I popped a dud .243 rifle into my local dealer and got a receipt for it.
I had a slot on my ticket for a .243 moderator.
I went to our local Firearms Dept and did a free 2 for 2 variation for a .22 rimfire and moderator which I arranged to purchase from the same dealer.
It took 30 days for the variation to come through.

Certainly does qualify for a freebie one-for-one variation.

I recently submitted a variation for a 7x57 rifle along with the 26 fee. A very nice lady from D&C 'phoned me asking if I wanted to keep the slot I had for a .308 moderator as I hadn't acquired it since issue - as it happened I didn't want it as I've no intention of putting one on my semi-heavy 'candy twist' barrelled Steyr anyway. In that case she tells me, you can have your variation as a free one-for-one. A refund cheque arrived a few days later as they'd already cashed mine.

Again an example of a superior service !

Excellent service at L&B as usual

    1for1 on Moderator to .222
1for1 on .243 sold/to be replaced in future
    ammo allowance upped

    all free and gratis
apparently I can pick it up in 48hrs..........(only joking)

Some moderators have the calibre listed - that might be an issue.

    nope.
    L&B are eminently sensible
    "full" or "small" bore moderator
