Picked up permish with deer :)

Was in work yesterday when one of the regulars was talking about her dog. I caught the conversation and started to have a nice chat to her, turns out her husband and her look after the puppys for the hunt until they are about 6 months old and start to put there nose to ground.

Anyways she mentions she lives on her husbands farm next to the forestry. I ask him and he says the land belongs to his mother n him n owns it all around there So I asked him if there's any chance to come up n have a crack at some of the foxes bothering him n also made a hint at the deer Said no problem come up n have a crack at the buggers. So sorted on the foxes 8) Will shoot a few n shoe him what a good job Ive been doing then ask if its ok to take a deer or 2

Was always jealous of the people here who had farms with deer on. I was looking at booking a stalk, looks like I wont have to now

    Bigthug,

You mean they 'walk' them for the hunt - usually a pair (brother and sis) Beagles packs do the same,

Sounds like you've dropped on then - lucky git!

Since the Hunting Act that's all that the hunts do. The business of not shooting foxes in hunting country has passed to a great extent these days.
