    Re-crowning. Hand tool!

    Gun/riflesmiths look away now!

I would be interested if somebody had a hand tool I could borrow for recrowning a barrel. I have an old worn .270 barrel that I am experimenting with and I would like to try this to see if it makes a difference.

Hi, now there is a coincidence.
I was just discussing this yesterday. I am about to stump up some cash to purchase one to cut an 11deg crown on an old beater that I want shortened.

An old time gunsmith in Norfolk would use a dome head brass screw with valve grinding paste in a hand drill to recrown rifles brought into him, took a long time but he won many trophies in his day, could go in either direction, so no bias in the cutting, to achieve the results he wanted. deerwarden
