    REDUNDANT... Any jobs going?!

Hello all, I was informed yesterday that my department is being sold to an overseas buyer and I will be made redundant in a couple of months - so I'm now well and truly on the hunt for another Job!...

I'm an Advertising Sales Manager for specialist print and online products.

    Transferrable skills:
    - Sales Team Management (3 direct reports)
    - 10 years experience in Advertising Sales (Online & Print)
    - Experience in the Pharmaceutica and Recruitment Sectors
    - Presenting at Board Level
    - Business Development
    - Sales Reporting

    Qualifications/Training:
    - Accredited Sales Coach
    - Delphi Training on Negotiation
    - Delphi Training on Presenting
    - Delphi Training on People Management
    - Degree in Business & Psychology
    - GNVQ in Business with Honours
    - 8 GCSE's (A-C Level)
    - FAC & SGC
    - DSC Level 1
    - Full clean driving licence

    Interests:
    - Shooting
    - Fishing
    - Fish keeping
    - Film & TV

I'll consider any role I have appropriate experience for but ideally it will be within an area I'm interested in.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Rich

Youve not much to go on sales or recruitment ,what do you want to do !
What you've got up above covers very little other than what you already doing you'll have to diversify your qualifications Ever so slightly give you the wider audience .

The sale of my department is confidential at this stage - I can't really give any info without it being very obvious. My thinking was that it's general enough that if anyone's interested/looking then they can PM me and I'll send my CV.

I would like to work managing a sales or product delivery team, ideally within one of the sector's I mentioned above if that helps?!

Have a look at all the web job agencies that you can and assess what's out there. Avoid the rather obvious web offers to help you write your cv...for a fee.
When you are able, register with some agencies and put in your requirements re area willing to travel etc. If you see a job advertised that is outwith your area don't be afraid to contact them and say how interesting the job sounds and do they/may they have any vacancies in your area?. Generally put maximum effort into it and see what comes up and if not much then at least you'll know you put max effort in.
I was made redundant just over a year ago and got another job within a month. I'm the first to admit there was a lot of luck re right place right time but you can increase your luck to a certain extent by putting the effort in.
    Best of luck with it.

ps.. I come out with more money in the new job and the old company is still totally stressing out what employees they kept on.

Upload your CV to jobsite (the agents pay extra to get fresh updates from the site) so expect to be bombed by calls & emails, this is the UK site I have used for the last 8 years and have had a few freelance roles through it, there is plenty of permy stuff there too if that is what you want.
Me? I find working as freelancer I am even more job secure than a permy as I will go anywhere the work is located, I have been freelancing for the last 33 years in engineering, works for me.

Funnily enough I used to work for Jobsite before I came here, and my girlfriend still does!

Good luck. One suggestion, set yourself up with a brand new @gmail account for all your job hunting stuff. Once you've got a job, just bin it. Whatever details you post on job sites will haunt you for years to come. I find LinkedIn quite useful as well.

Hi, I get all my work through Linked in. I would advise using it. Also, target your sector, pharma is a mile away from property. Also, get on the phone to various recruitment agencies, but the big ones as they offer help and advice.

    Good luck, been there before.
