How long does powder safely last for?

I haven't reloaded for a few years. I think the last time I bought powder it was about 6 years ago. Will it still be ok to use! The powders are, Reloder 15, H380 and N140.

    Advice gratefully received.

As long as it was stored dry and cool out of direct sunlight there should be no problem!

I have some H4895 bought in 1988 packed in the cardboard tubs & it still works just fine.

No that N140 will be ruined, you'd be much better off giving to me to dispose of.....

    I am on nobel 0 & 1 rifle powder.
works ok. just had to dispose of half a tin though as it started to smell very strong.

I used some Nobel Rifle No 1 the other day and, apart from the smell, it worked a treat.

Got told that if it smells the chemicals are breaking down, dont have a chrono to test its potency so thought it better to dump it EmcC mate.

That's quite true but I live on the edge and am up for anything (within reason!)
I must admit I used it on the range first and it was spot on, then on the way home shot a fox at 100yards so it was satisfactory in my 30-06.
