    Crimping a Beretta magazine tube

Hi, Has anyone done a magazine restriction on a Beretta 391 Extrema, my gun is on a firearm ticket and I would like to put it onto my shotgun ticket. Is the tube made of aluminium and can it be crimped without cracking it? Any advice would be appreciated

Friend of mine had a .32 pistol that had been restricted in the magazine to 3x shots ..............with a lollipop stick!!
I suggest you pop the end of the magazine off and insert something like a dowel. The police approved it and if it was good enough for a pistol............

The tube can be crimped with a plumbers pipe cutter. Care is required when using it, especially if it hasn't done much work, as it wont require much pressure to crimp the tube sufficiently.

I have been looking into doing the same thing with my FAC Extrema 2, but was informed that once a shotgun has been FAC it can not be downgraded to SGC in future.

It was a bit of a bummer as I have some wildfowlling lined up and would like to use the Extrema.

It may be worth checking this out before you go down the route of crimping.

I crimped a Beretta tube some years ago using a plumbers copper tube cutter. Just make sure the cutting wheel is sufficiently rounded on its edge , I used a grind stone to do it . The last thing you need is to break through the tube!
