    Autumn here

Autumn is upon us and we still have no crops in ,one of the boss's was very down in the mouth about it all ,well I went around the pens at 5.30 this morning and it was bloody freezing I had to put gloves on and even the dog looked cold in the front of the bike .
got home and the mercury read 4 degrees .
considering last October we were shooting partridges in oct in near 30 degree heat .hope this don't kick start the fallow rut early as I haven't got time for a stalk just yet. Cry cry cry .

Just in from walking dogs. Proper frost on the grass here.

First hack on my thumb also confirms it is colder. Lol

Just got back in from stalking and it was bloody freezing ! if it stays like this it could br a better prospect for wildfowling tommorow as it might just keep the midges at bay. DD

I took the dogs out this morning and it was rather nippy, I did think to myself I could quite easily put a pair of gloves on... Then I thought no, dont be such a woofter!! looks like the start of my favourite season is almost upon us

That'll mean an Indian Summer is just around the corner .....for as long as I can remember now, it's been pretty warm & dry when we've been shooting stags from early September through to October two or three weeks of dry weather & sunshine to come then!
    Cheers, ATB
